Joshua 1:8 (NIV)
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
God’s ways are totally different from ours. In Isaiah 55:8-9, the Bible says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (NIV). It is therefore not surprising that His formula for success is different to what is taught in Business Schools around the world today!
Good success comes from being faithful in the way we handle the Word of God! God told Joshua that for him to successfully lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land, he must faithfully study, consciously meditate upon, diligently apply and constantly speak the Word of God. The same principles apply to you and me today.
As children of God, if we want to prosper and have “good success” as the King James Version puts it, then the Word of God must become “flesh” to us and become a necessary part of our daily routine. We must prayerfully study it. We must meditate upon it day and night. We must dutifully apply it to every area of our lives. And we must speak, declare and pronounce it all the time!
If you meticulously do this, it will provide the framework for good success in every area of your life!
Thank You FATHER for your formula for good success. Help me to make Your Word a necessary part of my daily routine. May Your Word become flesh to me. In Jesus’ Name I pray. AMEN.
